It's now exactly one week until my first gig of the year. I haven't been on a stage since September of last year, so it's been a while. The folly of joining the LGMC dance group has led to my inclusion in a gig originally meant for the Chorus soloists only. It's at the Oval House Theatre in Kennington, and we'll be doing a sort of mini-cabaret for the first night of a play called You Don't Kiss. Rumour has it that Ruby Wax will be there.
I now have one week to iron out the wrinkles in the dance routine to Mein Herr from Cabaret. Meanwhile, the rest of Chorus life ticks along, with the Wavendon gig a week or so after. I think I've pretty much got the words off pat now, and just need to sort out my general co-ordination (this has always been the case).
Is there life outside Chorus? Not much. I have, however, acquired a fab new PC from Dell. It truly is the dog's gonads. 3.06GHz Pentium 4 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 200GB hard disk, 18" flat screen monitor... drool!
I continue to while away my spare time tinkling on the ivories. I'm concentrating on Chopin's Raindrop Prelude now, with the odd digression in favour of my Moulin Rouge sheet music.
